Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)

A small implantable device that both slows down an unusually fast heart rate and automatically delivers small electrical shocks when the unit detects cardiac arrhythmia. These units are often implanted into people who have a high chance of experiencing cardiac arrest.

IP Rating

International Protection (sometimes referred to as Ingress Protection) represents a product enclosures ability to withstand intrusion from dust and water. The standard is set by IEC 60529, the higher the number / IP Rating the greater the level of protection.
