AEDs are all designed to perform the same task, however there are some ranges that are more advanced than others and can provide additional information to trained medical staff. One such feature is an ECG mode. Typically found on defibrillators with in-built LCD screens, this mode is intended for use by personnel who have received ECG recognition training and provides an option for the analysis of heart rate and heart rhythm.
The Physio-Control Lifepak 1000 is a semi-automatic defibrillator that maximises hands-on CPR time and has the ability to escalate energy shock levels during treatment. When accompanied with the 3-lead ECG cable (sold separately), ECG mode can be enabled.
