Basic Life Support (BLS)

A simple yet imperative first aid treatment which includes CPR and the use of an AED (where possible) designed to be used until professional medical services arrive. In essence it is two of the components of the chain of survival theory.

Biphasic Energy

The name of the electrical current delivered by a defibrillator, referred to as biphasic waveforms. There are two types of biphasic waveforms used in AEDs, called truncated exponential waveforms or rectilinear biphasic waveforms.

Bradycardia

When the heart rate slows down and the bloody supply around the body is reduced. Below 60 beats per minute is classified as Bradycardia.
