Electrocardiogram (ECG)

Readings from across the thorax that interpret the activity of the electrical charges in the heart. Commonly performed using an AED or ECG machine in conjunction with electrode pads.

Electrodes

Electrodes are often called defib pads. They are used in conjunction with AEDs to create electrocardiogram readings and to deliver a therapeutic electrical charge to a patient to try and realign the hearts rhythm.

EMT

Emergency medical technician. A trained and certified professional who can use advanced life support techniques to treat sudden cardiac arrest.
